Wireless speeds
Cisco states that the maximum performance for wireless is derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual performance can vary, including lower wireless network capacity, data throughput rate, range and coverage. Router linksy wireless performance depends on many factors, conditions and variables, including distance from the access point, volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, operating system used, mix of wireless products used, interference and other adverse conditions.
Setup includes the following:
- Connect and access a USB storage device
- Map a shortcut to a USB storage device
- Create a shared folder on a USB storage device (advanced users)
- Manage access to shared folders using group and user accounts (advanced users)

To begin with Windows 7
Install the USB storage device.
- Check that your pc is connected with the router (wireless or wired).
- Connect an external USB hard diskdrive or USB flash
disk to the USB port of the router.
- Accessing the USB storage device: On your desktop, click the Windows Explorer icon. (If you don't see the icon, then go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer)
In the address field, enter the local IP address of the router: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. The default IP is 192.168.1.1.
Then, double-click the public folder. On the login screen enter your user name and password.

- Map a drive: On your desktop click the Windows Explorer icon, then in the address field, enter the local IP address of the router: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. The default IP is 192.168.1.1.
Then, right-click the folder you want to map and click "Map Network Drive". Next, select an available drive letter from the Drive dropdown menu. When the log-in screen appears, enter your user name and password. Click OK. And click "Finish"
To access the mapped drive, click the Windows Explorer icon on your desktop. And double-click the mapped drive.
